Standing an impressive 2 feet tall (24 inches), this vintage dark wood carving depicts Lord Krishna as Venugopala, the divine cowherd playing his celestial flute. Carved from a solid block of hardwood this piece showcases traditional South Indian craftsmanship with intricate relief detailing throughout his crown, jewelry, dhoti, and supporting halo (prabhavali).
Depicted in the classic Tribhanga (three-bend) posture with legs crossed gracefully at the ankles, Krishna stands upon a raised lotus pedestal (padmapitha). A mounting ring is attached to the back if you prefer to secure or display it on a wall, or it can stand freely on an altar, mantel, or entryway table.
